We never use metal for cavity repair or restorations. Porcelain and composite resins are not only more attractive, they’re healthier for your smile because unlike metal, they do not expand and contract when exposed to variations in temperature—a process that can cause teeth to crack over time. If you already have metal fillings in your smile, I will encourage you to have them removed and replaced with these healthier and more attractive alternatives.
